I actually WON something!!!!!

I am forever entering giveaways on different blogs.
Sometimes it's for fabric or a new gadget or all kinds of crazy stuff.
I am a sucker for a giveaway!!!

So, of course when I saw one at Fourteen May I entered it....and I WON!!!!!!

She was giving away FOUR of her super cute bag patterns!

Lovely.
I can't wait to make the Sunday Bag and the March bag!
They are both a nice size that I might even be able to fit my "kid stuff" into.
I did already have the June and July patterns but that's ok!

I was just excited that I finally won something!

Hailey Dress Testing

Have I mentioned that I love testing new patterns? ;-)

I did another one for the adorable shop Petite Kids Boutique.

Her patterns are very well written and include LOTS of pictures.
You really can't go wrong with any of them!

This one is called the "Hailey Dress."
And it's only for 0-24 months....good thing I have a cute little niece to  model for me because I can't squeeze Peighton into that size anymore!!!!

It's got puffy little sleeves, a ruffle at the bottom and a bow that can tie in the front or the back!

Tiny white buttons go down the back.

Even though it was super cute laying on my floor it was so much better on little Miss Hayden!!!!!

It was her first official modeling job and she did very well!

A little Night Fishin'

One of the kids favorite things to do is walk down to the pond in our neighborhood and catch fish with thier daddy!
Peighton has a pink Barbie fishing pole, of course.

We still need to get one for Preston...he doesn't seem to mind using the Barbie one for now!

Peighton is working on casting it herself...I try to stand very far out of the way as she learns this skill.

Waiting for the big whopper to take the bait.

Reeling him in!

Peighton loves it just as much as Preston!

This picture says it all:
One tiny little fish.
One happy Daddy.
One very proud Peighton.
And one nervous little Preston-he would not take his eyes off that fish!

I don't do much on these little fishing trips-I am not fond of slimy worms or slimy fish.
So, I capture moments like these and watch my babies grow and learn.
And I try to keep Preston from falling in the pond too...so maybe my job is the most important of all!

Kid's Oven Mitts

The adorable Itsy Bitsy Boutique asked me to bring in some kid's aprons.
Of course I whipped a few up.

What does every little baker or chef need when making lunch in their play kitchen?

OVEN MITTS!

I used a free pattern from HERE

There is a pattern to print out and great instructions too!

And the best part was I even used up some of  my mountain of scraps to make these!

Ready for summer!

We are ready for summer around here!

Peighton picked out this super cute cherries fabric for a summer outfit.

I love it.

We made one of her favorite summer styles too.
Just a quick little pinafore top that crosses in the back and some dot ruffle capris to match!

Now we can't wait until it's warm enough to wear it!

Homemade Gummy Snacks

My kids LOVE gummy fruit snacks.
They would eat the whole box if I let them!
I saw a recipe on pinterest to make our own and thought we'd try it out.

The original recipe is HERE and there are detailed directions with lots of pictures.

They were very easy to make and set up a lot quicker than I thought they would.
I had a bunch of random chocolate  molds that I used when I was teaching to make super cute crayons.
They worked quite well for this too!

The blue ones are the Jell-O version.

The red are a Raspberry Apple juice flavor made with fruit juice concentrate.

Peighton and Preston liked them (Preston REALLY liked them!)
I am not quite as fond of them.
I tried both.
They are just a bit odd.
If we make them again, I think we will pick a different flavor of juice and use one less package of the gelatin.
But the kids both like them so that's all that matters!

I think it would be a fun thing to make for a birthday party if you made them to match the theme!

A few things for my little farmer

It is so hard to find things to make for Preston!
Boy stuff is just not as easy as girly dresses and skirts.

I found some adorable new designs for my embroidery machine though!
Super cute little tractor in John Deere colors, of course.

Love this little piggie!
I should have made the "P" blue or a brighter color though.

He LOVES them!
He popped over to see what I was doing while I took pictures.

He was very excited to see a "dac-tor" on his shirt!

This is what happens when 2 kids go to the fabric store with me...

We come home with random fabric that I would never pick out on my own!

Preston is currently in love with Elmo.
No one really knows why because he's seen Sesame Street like 3 times...ever...in his whole life.
It could be worse, I guess.

Peighton loves Strawberry Shortcake and all of her Berry Friends.

At one point my cart was piled with all sorts of characters
but they were each allowed to pick ONE.

And what does one make with their random choices?
Pajama pants of course!

I guess it wasn't all bad...they are both growing so quickly that they do actually need some pajamas!
